The position involves a highly cross-functional role, driving system electrical engineering design for Pixel watches. Key responsibilities include evaluating and selecting components for next-generation products, designing systems from concept to mass production, creating specifications, leading validation efforts, and resolving cross-functional issues. You'll also work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure successful product development.

This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, consumer electronics, and embedded system design. You'll need experience with various lab equipment, prototype bring-up, and circuit board level design. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of SOC/MCU, power management, mixed circuits, sensor integration, and various communication protocols.

Responsibilities For Hardware Electrical Engineer, Watch

  • Work with internal teams to evaluate and select components and new technologies for next generation products based on product vision and end-user experiences
  • Design, develop, and review systems and sub-components from concept to mass production
  • Create system specifications and plan/lead validation of your designs
  • Drive resolution of cross-functional issues including those related to architecture, production, and development
  • Work with suppliers/manufacturing partners to establish relationships for future product designs

Requirements For Hardware Electrical Engineer, Watch

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience working in the consumer electronics industry, and embedded system design
  • Experience with lab equipment: digital multimeter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope, power supply, data logger, etc.
  • Experience with prototype bring-up, debugging, function and performance verification and validation, and manufacturing support
  • Experience in circuit board level design engineering including chipset, memory, high speed interface, power supplies, Cadence/Allegro and PCB/Flex technologies
