Description For Hardware Validation Engineer, Platforms

You will support new product engineering and development in Google's hardware Research and Development(R&D) labs by helping to design, build, and maintain system-level testbeds (think data center-scale). This role involves working with teams to develop software and hardware systems, developing methodologies and tools to support team members, and coordinating interactions between labs and engineering. You'll be responsible for designing and building complex system-level testbeds, maintaining lab space, tools, and infrastructure. The role requires anticipating and resolving problems, applying knowledge and skills, and escalating design, manufacturing, and product test issues when appropriate. You'll also generate implementation plans and provide technical expertise during deployment activities.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field, or equivalent practical experience. You should have at least 1 year of experience working in a data center technical environment or an advanced degree. Experience with standard networking protocols, various cabling and interconnect technologies, and Linux is required.

Preferred qualifications include 3 years of experience in a data center or networking operation center environment, understanding of computer systems and network design, ability to read and write code in Python or a scripting language, and excellent time management skills.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $102,000-$150,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Google is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of background.
