Description For Head of Developer Policy Support, Trust and Safety

Google's Trust and Safety team is seeking a Head of Developer Policy Support to lead their policy support function within Developer Experience (DevEx). This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to protect users and partners across Google's product ecosystem. The position involves managing and scaling support solutions for Play developers facing policy compliance issues, ensuring successful app launches while maintaining high developer satisfaction.

As a leader in this role, you'll work at the intersection of policy, technology, and user safety, collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineers and product managers. You'll be responsible for establishing best practices, monitoring operational metrics, and driving solutions that balance developer success with platform integrity.

The role offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $198,000-$282,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Head of Developer Policy Support, Trust and Safety

  • Manage developer support function, providing guidance and coaching in establishing and running developer policy support within Trust and Safety (T&S)
  • Oversee the timely resolution of policy issues reported by developers
  • Work with product management, engineering, and account teams to advocate for developer needs
  • Evaluate and support processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage high priority escalations that occur outside of standard non work hours including weekends/holidays

Requirements For Head of Developer Policy Support, Trust and Safety

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 13 years of experience in Trust and Safety, Operations, or Service Management
  • 2 years of experience leading teams or people management
  • Master's or PhD in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
  • 15 years of experience in Technology, Product Policy, Trust and Safety or related fields (preferred)
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams in a developer support or customer success environment
  • Experience working with policy teams
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and building relationships with developers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
