Description For Head of Developer Policy Support, Trust and Safety

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking a Head of Developer Policy Support to lead their policy support function within Developer Experience (DevEx). This role combines leadership in Trust & Safety operations with developer support excellence. The position involves managing teams that help Play developers navigate policy compliance, ensuring successful app launches while maintaining high developer satisfaction.

The role sits within Google's Trust & Safety team, which works to make the internet safer by fighting abuse across all Google products. This team of experts tackles challenges in malware, spam, account hijacking, and other abuse areas, protecting users, advertisers, and publishers globally in over 40 languages.

As the Head of Developer Policy Support, you'll be responsible for defining best practices, implementing scalable support solutions, and improving operational metrics. You'll lead a team that provides crucial support to Play developers facing policy compliance issues, balancing developer success with platform integrity.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in Trust and Safety or Operations Management, with proven leadership abilities and a strong customer-focused approach. Responsibilities For Head of Developer Policy Support, Trust and Safety

  • Manage developer support function, providing guidance and coaching in establishing and running a developer policy support within Trust & Safety (T&S)
  • Oversee the timely and effective resolution of policy issues reported by developers
  • Work with product management, engineering, and account teams to advocate for developer needs
  • Evaluate and improve support processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Manage high priority escalations that occur outside of standard non work hours including weekends/holidays

Requirements For Head of Developer Policy Support, Trust and Safety

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 13 years of experience in Trust and Safety, Operations, or Service Management
  • 2 years of experience leading teams or people management
  • Master's or PhD in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
  • 15 years of experience in Technology, Product Policy, Trust and Safety or related fields (preferred)
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams in a developer support or customer success environment
  • Experience working with policy teams
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and building relationships with developers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
