Google is seeking an experienced Extended Reality (XR) Headsets Hardware Product Manager to join their Augmented Reality team. This crucial role involves developing product plans for reference designs and next-generation hardware for the XR team, helping drive the roadmap of devices on Android XR and partner engagement.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and perception engineering teams, as well as Product Management, UXR, Business Development, and partnerships.

Responsibilities For Headsets Hardware Product Manager, Extended Reality

  • Define and advance the product strategy and multi-year roadmap for XR Headsets Hardware
  • Drive the product definition for XR hardware devices
  • Define the ecosystem strategy and support for partners to leverage reference designs
  • Work directly with external partners on the delivery of reference designs and next-generation hardware
  • Conduct market research alongside UXR to identify product opportunities and market trends

Requirements For Headsets Hardware Product Manager, Extended Reality

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in product management, co-founder, or a related technical role
  • 3 years of experience building and shipping consumer hardware electronics products
  • Experience applying the principles of Zero to One to startup creation
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
  • 3 years of experiences in leading strategy for consumer hardware products (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience working with external partners on device strategy roadmaps (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience delivering zero-to-one products and technologies (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience building products with novel capabilities (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience in the XR industry (preferred)
