Description For Image Signal Processor, Silicon Validation Engineer

Google's Multimedia Silicon Validation team is seeking an Image Signal Processor (ISP) Silicon Validation Engineer to join their innovative hardware team. This role focuses on developing and validating critical components of Google's Tensor SoCs, specifically working with camera use-cases in both pre- and post-silicon validation environments. The position involves working with various accelerators for image processing, embedded DSP cores, and ML inference accelerators.

As a member of the ISP Silicon Validation team, you'll be responsible for developing and executing software tests for the ISP used in Google Tensor. You'll work across multiple environments, from bare metal to embedded Linux, and utilize various platforms ranging from FPGA emulation to post-silicon hardware. The role requires collaboration with Production Software teams for development and debugging.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in silicon validation, computer architecture, and programming skills in C/C++, Python, or Bash. Experience with software development tools, hardware debug tools, and familiarity with hardware accelerators for camera or multimedia systems is highly valued. The position offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $127,000-$187,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities For Image Signal Processor, Silicon Validation Engineer

  • Develop, and execute software tests to validate ISP blocks and integration
  • Read hardware specifications, identify and develop test cases to run on FPGA emulation and silicon
  • Development of software test methodologies/techniques
  • Support volume production through screening and characterization tests
  • Support power measurements, correlation, and debug
