Google is seeking an Imaging and Multimedia System Architect to join their Silicon team, working on custom silicon solutions for direct-to-consumer products. This role combines expertise in Camera and Imaging, Machine Learning, and Multimedia system architecture to shape the future of Google's Tensor SoC-based Pixel devices.

The position requires deep technical knowledge in computer architecture, mobile SoCs, and Android multimedia software development. You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies in Computational Photography and Generative AI, collaborating across multiple teams to deliver innovative solutions that power Google's hardware experiences.

The role offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $150,000-$223,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

You'll work closely with research teams, product management, and various architecture teams to shape the future of Google's hardware products.

Responsibilities For Imaging and Multimedia System Architect, Silicon

  • Collaborate with Google research, product management, SoC and IP architecture, and Pixel product teams to define the product roadmap
  • Develop end-to-end system architecture and lead workstreams to enable new and emerging GenerativeAI and Computational Imaging use-cases
  • Perform system architecture analysis for complex Imaging, Generative AI and Multimedia user experiences
  • Develop technical collaterals to influence architecture and design decisions on future Tensor SoCs
  • Collaborate with multimedia IP architecture, system architecture and device software teams to build prototypes/production software

Requirements For Imaging and Multimedia System Architect, Silicon

Linux
Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with computer architecture concepts, including microarchitecture, cache hierarchy, pipelining, and memory subsystems
  • 5 years of experience working on mobile System-on-a-Chip (SoCs)
  • 3 years of experience in mobile SoC system architecture and subsystems including Camera ISP, ML, NPU, GPU, Video Codecs or Display
  • 3 years of experience in Android multimedia software development including drivers, HAL, framework and applications
