Google is seeking a Lead CPU Micro Architect to join their hardware innovation team. This role combines cutting-edge CPU architecture with Google's mission to organize world information. You'll lead microarchitecture exploration, working with performance teams to define and evaluate concepts that align with Google's CPU business goals. You'll collaborate across teams on Performance, Power, and Area (PPA) tradeoff analysis, communicating complex technical concepts effectively.

This position offers competitive compensation ($177,000-$266,000) plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Responsibilities For Lead CPU Micro Architect

  • Plan microarchitecture exploration team to define CPU microarchitecture that aligns with the Google CPU business goals
  • Work with the performance team to define performance analysis tasks and priority to evaluate the microarchitecture concepts
  • Collaborate with design teams in PPA (Performance, Power, Area), tradeoff analysis for new microarchitecture features
  • Communicate ideas and performance or power, performance, and area (PPA) results in both qualitative and quantitative fashion to support the decisions

Requirements For Lead CPU Micro Architect

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with computer architecture concepts, including microarchitecture, and CPU design
  • Experience in CPU microarchitecture innovation
  • Experience in performance modeling, performance analysis, and workload characterization
  • Experience in Android system software components, AI/ML
  • Experience with Advanced RISC Machine (ARM) architecture including all its extensions such as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
