Description For Lead Group Product Manager, YouTube Trust and Safety

Google is seeking a Lead Group Product Manager for YouTube Trust and Safety to guide critical products from conception to launch. This role sits at the intersection of technology, policy, and user safety, focusing on defining, detecting, and preventing scaled abuse on YouTube's platform. The position requires a strategic leader who can understand complex incentives and behaviors to combat bad actors while maintaining YouTube as a safe space for users, creators, and advertisers.

The role demands extensive experience in product management, trust and safety, and technical leadership. You'll lead a team of product managers, working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, marketing, legal, and other stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that protect YouTube's community while enabling creative expression.

Key responsibilities include creating product requirements, owning roadmaps, and tracking metrics that measure success in trust and safety initiatives. You'll be tackling some of the most challenging problems in technology and policy today, working to build a safer YouTube and Internet ecosystem.

The position offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $214,000-$305,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. You'll be part of YouTube's mission to give everyone a voice and create a platform where stories can be shared and communities can thrive.

  • Lead a team of product managers
  • Lead a team through defining, identifying, collecting, and tracking appropriate product or business metrics
  • Create product requirements, co-lead product design and development and own product roadmaps
  • Lead collaboration with engineering, marketing, legal, User Experience (UX), and other teams on cutting edge technologies

Requirements For Lead Group Product Manager, YouTube Trust and Safety

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role
  • 10 years experience in trust and safety at a technology company
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership
  • Master's degree or PhD in a technology or business related field (preferred)
  • 7 years of experience working cross-functionally (preferred)
  • 7 years of experience in a business function or role (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in software development or engineering (preferred)
  • Knowledge in building accessibility best practices
