Description For Machine Learning Research Engineer, Health AI

Google's Health AI team is seeking a Machine Learning Research Engineer to join their mission of catalyzing the adoption of human-centered AI in healthcare and medicine. This role offers opportunities to advance foundational ML capabilities and build agents for breakthrough capabilities in consumer health and adjacent domains.

As part of the Health AI India team, you'll conduct machine learning research in a multidisciplinary environment. Your responsibilities will include innovating and implementing ML algorithms for multimodal healthcare data, authoring research publications, and working on complex research and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software engineering, data structures, and algorithms, with specific experience in machine learning. You'll be working with large, complex medical datasets and collaborating with various stakeholders, including Product Managers, Clinicians, and UX researchers.

Responsibilities For Machine Learning Research Engineer, Health AI

  • Innovate, implement and evaluate machine learning algorithms over multimodal healthcare data
  • Author publications of novel research in leading scientific journals and conferences
  • Design, implement and deliver complex pieces of research and infrastructure as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Requirements For Machine Learning Research Engineer, Health AI

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software engineering in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • Machine learning experience
  • One or more research publication submissions for conferences, journals, or public repositories
