Google Cloud Business Platforms (GCBP) is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead their Production Support team. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing on managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects within Google Cloud's business platforms.
As the Manager of Google Cloud Business Platforms Production Support, you'll be responsible for developing team members into skilled troubleshooting experts and cross-functional leaders. Your team will diagnose various issues within minutes while treating each challenge as an opportunity for product innovation. The role requires a strong technical background, with experience in implementing and supporting Internet-based applications, web servers, and Linux/Unix systems.
The position sits within GCBP, a crucial product and engineering organization responsible for applications and platforms that drive Cloud Marketing, Sales, Partner, Support, Finance, and other critical functions. These solutions are essential for running the Google Cloud business and enabling growth.
You'll work closely with Product Management and Engineering teams, using a data-driven approach to advocate for customers. The role involves establishing program review cadences, making strategic decisions, and managing resource deployment effectively. - Develop the idea, goals, priorities, and work alongside the team to accomplish them
- Ensure high-quality customer service, enhance operations, and develop team's technical skills
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to advocate for customers with a data-driven approach
- Establish reliable cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and Resource Stewardship
- Define/manage a program portfolio solving problems that focus on high business impact
Requirements For Manager, Technical Program Manager, Google Cloud Business Platforms
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of experience in Technical Program Management
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role with/without direct reports
- 5 years of experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting Internet-based applications, web servers, data storage, commerce engines, and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Master's degree or MBA (preferred)
- 5 years of experience with managing hosted services/SaaS (preferred)
- Ability to analyze and trace product behavior back to the responsible code
- Ability to interact with customer executives and resolve high-profile escalations
