Description For Manager, UX Programs and Operations, Consumer UX

Google's UX Programs & Operations team is seeking a Manager to drive projects within their UX organizations. This role is crucial in increasing communication and connection points, streamlining the UX design process, and fostering a culture of user-centered development. As a UX Program Manager, you'll be part of Google's User Experience (UX) team, a multi-disciplinary group comprising UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers.

The role combines expert project management skills with UX passion to improve products used by billions. You'll be responsible for planning projects, defining milestones, assessing risks, creating actionable insights, and ensuring timely project delivery. You'll coordinate work across UX disciplines while collaborating with Engineering and Product Manager partners to drive team objectives and create innovative user experiences.

  • Drive the vision for operational excellence across UX teams
  • Develop program roadmaps and establish user-centered project goals
  • Oversee critical efforts for broader or cross-functional projects, programs, and strategies
  • Advocate the establishment of key UX metrics that drive a culture of user-centered development

Requirements For Manager, UX Programs and Operations, Consumer UX

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience managing and scaling UX related programs
  • 10 years of experience driving operational efforts across organizations
  • 3 years of experience managing and developing a team
  • Experience with UX disciplines and user-centered development tools and methodologies
  • Experience analyzing data and leveraging insights to develop solutions
  • Program Management experience within a Design or UX organization (preferred)
  • Experience with the product development lifecycle (preferred)
  • Experience leading across geographically distributed teams (preferred)
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and issues (preferred)
