Description For Manufacturing Test Engineering, Rack Integration

Google's Manufacturing Operations team seeks a Manufacturing Rack Integration Test Engineer to join their Technical Infrastructure division. This role is crucial in evaluating and creating manufacturing test processes for Google's Cloud Hardware Technologies, including Machine Learning, Compute and Storage, and Networking rack products. The position combines hardware and software expertise, requiring strong background in manufacturing and test automation.

The role involves working with Google's custom-designed equipment, which powers one of the world's largest computing infrastructures. You'll be responsible for developing test strategies, implementing automated testing solutions, and ensuring manufacturing quality for critical infrastructure components. As part of the Technical Infrastructure team, you'll contribute to maintaining and developing Google's data centers and next-generation platforms. Responsibilities For Manufacturing Test Engineering, Rack Integration

  • Support manufacturing test development for new and existing hardware designs to support Compute and Storage, Networking, and Machine Learning Data Center products
  • Define the manufacturing test strategy for new products and work with partners to develop test solutions, write test plans, and drive test coverage based on product requirements
  • Develop automated test software for functional tests, conduct code reviews and debug test failures
  • Design, build, and deploy test platforms for Google's global manufacturing partners
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and root cause manufacturing yield issues and field escapes, and drive issues to closure
  • Identify DFT opportunities, and document and collaborate with design engineering (hardware/software) for implementation prior to manufacture builds

Requirements For Manufacturing Test Engineering, Rack Integration

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in embedded software or test automation with Python
  • Experience with developing manufacturing test hardware using electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals in PCIe, Ethernet, and TCP/IP
  • Ability to generate product-specific test plans and execute testing accordingly
