Google is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join their Data Center Automation team in Redmond. This specialized role requires physical interaction with hardware equipment in a simulated data center environment. As part of the Mechanical Product Design Engineering Team, you'll work cross-functionally to design, build, and deploy cutting-edge technology supporting compute, storage, networking, and machine learning hardware. Responsibilities For Mechatronics Engineer, Data Center, Automation

  • Design industrial automation and robotics equipment for Google data centers
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, control systems, and software engineers to define technical requirements
  • Set technical direction, lead projects, and plan strategic work for the team
  • Define architecture and author control code for automation equipment
  • Build and maintain systems to broadcast telemetry and receive direction from Google production back-end

Requirements For Mechatronics Engineer, Data Center, Automation

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience designing and testing multiple subsystems and systems
  • 3 years of experience authoring control code for PLCs, robots, and related systems
  • 3 years of experience with industrial electrical control system components
  • 3 years of experience with project leadership and stakeholder management
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms and MES data integration
  • Experience programming industrial automation and robotics
  • Experience with electronic and mechanical fabrication
  • Experience with industrial networking protocols
  • Experience in software development (C++, C#, or Python)
