Description For MicroLED Device Engineer

As a MicroLED Device Engineer, you'll be instrumental in developing high-performance micro-LED emitters from concept to implementation. The position involves working with advanced optical characterization techniques, analyzing complex datasets, and collaborating with various engineering teams from epitaxy to process development.

The role is based in Fremont, CA, at a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab. You'll be joining a team with startup roots that's now backed by Google's resources and reach. The position offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $147,000-$216,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in opto-electronics or 3 years with an advanced degree. A PhD in Applied Physics, Materials Science, or Optoelectronics is preferred. You should be comfortable with optical setups, semiconductor optics, data analysis, and have a strong understanding of optical properties.

Responsibilities For MicroLED Device Engineer

  • Develop high-performance micro-LED emitters from end to end: from physical concepts and design to demonstrating device performance and manufacturability
  • Develop advanced metrology: implement novel setups to improve the physical understanding and the performance of micro-LED emitters
  • Analyze large experimental datasets to extract trends and improve device performance and yield
  • Interact with teams including epitaxy, process engineering, characterization and test

Requirements For MicroLED Device Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or specialized field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience working in Opto-electronics, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree
  • Experience with optical setups, semiconductor optics and data analysis
  • PhD or equivalent in Applied Physics, Materials Science, Optoelectronics preferred
  • Understanding of optical properties such as light extraction/wave optics
  • Expertise in analyzing overall device performance and handling complex datasets
