Google's Network Implementation Engineer role is a crucial position focused on executing deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. As part of Google's Network Team, you'll be responsible for operating the network that serves millions of Internet users globally. The role involves working with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers, as well as external vendors and contractors.
The position is centered on building and maintaining the world's most reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network infrastructure. You'll be working in the metros, which are on the edge of Google's network where it connects to users. The team owns the full lifecycle of all space, power, and network assets in Google's data centers and metro points of presence globally.

You'll be involved in everything from site acquisition to construction, and from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning. Responsibilities For Network Implementation Engineer, Prod Capacity
- Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale
- Primary focus will be delivering Infrastructure capacity for APAC region
- Responsibilities include design, planning, and installation support for optical transport
- Work with senior engineers to develop creative approaches for keeping operational costs low through tooling and process improvements
Requirements For Network Implementation Engineer, Prod Capacity
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3 years of experience in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) or Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) or system design operations methodology
- Experience in Troubleshooting of DWDM systems and topology and architecture
- Knowledge of fiber types and their application; physical fiber characteristics; and standard testing tools
- Understanding of networking and fundamentals of network troubleshooting at Layer1
- Understanding of network transport design, equipment and infrastructure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
