Google is seeking a Network Implementation Engineer to join their team in Singapore. This role is crucial in executing deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. As part of Google's Network Team, you'll be responsible for operating the network that provides services to millions of Internet users globally. The position involves working with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers, as well as external vendors and contractors.
The role focuses on building and maintaining the world's most reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network to support current and future customers. You'll be involved in the full lifecycle of space, power, and network assets in Google's data centers and metro points of presence globally. This includes everything from site acquisition to construction, and from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DWDM systems, TCP/IP, and network infrastructure, combined with excellent troubleshooting abilities. You'll be working in the APAC region, focusing on infrastructure capacity and optical transport. Responsibilities For Network Implementation Engineer, Prod Capacity
- Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale
- Primary focus will be delivering Infrastructure capacity for APAC region
- Responsibilities include design, planning, and installation support for optical transport
- Work with more senior engineers to develop creative approaches for keeping operational costs low through tooling and process improvements
Requirements For Network Implementation Engineer, Prod Capacity
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3 years of experience in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) or Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) or system design operations methodology
- Experience in Troubleshooting of DWDM systems and topology and architecture
- Knowledge of fiber types and their application; physical fiber characteristics; and standard testing tools
- Understanding of networking and fundamentals of network troubleshooting at Layer1
- Understanding of network transport design, equipment and infrastructure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
