Network Operations Engineer, Global Network Operations

Google's Network Operations team is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join their Global Network Operations division. This role is crucial in maintaining and operating Google's vast private data networks worldwide. As a Network Implementation Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of executing deployment, maintenance, and operations of the network infrastructure that serves millions of Internet users globally.

The position involves working with various teams including Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers, as well as external vendors and contractors. You'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of Google's network infrastructure, particularly in metro areas where Google connects directly with users.

The role requires expertise in network operations, particularly in Layer 1 to Layer 3 networking, with a focus on troubleshooting and problem-solving. You'll be part of a 24/7 global team, responding to network outages, developing diagnostic workflows, and providing remote support for field operations. The position demands strong technical skills in optical and IP networks, combined with the ability to communicate effectively with high-level customers.

Google's network team owns the complete lifecycle of space, power, and network assets in all data centers and metro points of presence globally.
