Description For Partner Engineer, Mobile Carriers

Google is seeking a Partner Engineer for Mobile Carriers to join their team in Mexico City. This role combines technical expertise with program management to ensure successful carrier certification and testing of mobile devices. The position involves working with cross-functional teams to manage carrier Type Approval processes, lead multi-disciplinary projects, and collaborate with Android and software teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cellular technologies, modem/telephony technology, and carrier certification processes. Responsibilities For Partner Engineer, Mobile Carriers

  • Manage all aspects of the carrier Type Approval (TA) process including carrier requirements delivery, sample management, certification schedule, and packaging requirements, for mobile products
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. Collaborate with Android and software teams to triage and prioritize Carrier-related issues
  • Work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners
  • Collaborate with other carrier program managers in the team on program updates and represent in product meetings as needed
  • Collaborate with the launch team to optimize the On-shelf date for the product

Requirements For Partner Engineer, Mobile Carriers

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program management
  • Experience managing carrier certification of smartphones and connected wearable devices including scheduling, testing, or execution
  • 5 years of experience with cellular radio technologies and features
  • 5 years of experience in modem/telephony technology stack and troubleshooting
  • Experience in testing of LTE/5G connected devices
  • Knowledge of carrier certification processes for Global carriers
