As the Principal Engineer, PhysICS (Physical Infrastructure Controls Security) you will be responsible for the technical leadership of the PhysICS program. You will define the overall end to end security architecture for PhysICS. This will include an overall zero trust network/systems design that reduces the potential blast radius of security events by segmentation, access proxies, and explicit authentication/authorization while preserving reliability in the data center environment.
You will provide technical leadership over a range of partner teams who have a range of responsibilities for operating in and securing the data center environment. You will guide and influence senior leaders across Google Cloud and Technical Infrastructure to shape the strategic direction of the PhysICS program and to ensure that secure architectures are adopted and implemented.

Responsibilities: • Act as the senior technical leader for PhysICS across Technical Infrastructure. • Define the overall end to end security architecture for PhysICS. • Drive the adoption of secure architectures/zero trust design in the PhysICS environment to drive improvements in our security posture. • Own and drive security initiatives in Technical Infrastructure and collaborate closely with other senior leaders on such initiatives across Technical Infrastructure and more broadly Alphabet.
