Google's Core team is seeking a Privacy Engineer III to join their Mergers and Acquisitions division. This role is crucial in reducing Alphabet's information security and privacy risks through strategic engagements and privacy program development. As part of the Core team, you'll work on the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, building central solutions and strengthening existing systems.

The position requires expertise in privacy engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing privacy solutions for acquisitions. You'll work closely with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure privacy practices align with Alphabet's policies while meeting operational needs. The role involves analyzing complex systems, applying privacy technologies, and contributing to acquisition integration plans.

Responsibilities For Privacy Engineer III, Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Identify, design, and lead new privacy engineering solutions that bring an acquisition privacy posture into better alignment with Alphabet's policies and practices
  • Coordinate with Legal and other Cross-functional (XFN) business stakeholders to identify solutions that balance operational needs with Legal/Regulatory/Contractual needs
  • Examine Alphabet initiatives/technologies to understand the interdependencies and how it may be adapted for acquisitions
  • Contribute to critical role in the acquisition/Product Area (PA) integration plan, providing privacy subject matter experience

Requirements For Privacy Engineer III, Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience designing privacy solutions, including analyzing and assessing engineering designs and working with stakeholders
  • 2 years of experience in applying privacy technologies (e.g., differential privacy, automated access management solutions, etc.)
  • Experience in IT Consulting or a similar field (preferred)
  • Experience working in Mergers and Acquisitions (preferred)
  • Experience working across a variety of Cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Platform) (preferred)
  • Experience in machine learning, generative AI, or similar fields (preferred)
