Description For Product Manager, Capacity and Logistics Systems

Google Cloud is seeking a Product Manager to join their Virtual Machine (VM) Families and Platform Product team. This role focuses on logistics systems and software crucial for scalable operation and distribution of VM Families Product portfolio. The position requires extensive experience in product management and infrastructure technology, combining technical expertise with business acumen.

The role involves working with Google Compute, a growing portfolio of infrastructure products and services. You'll be responsible for driving new capabilities in demand curation, processing, fulfillment, and DC automation systems for all machine families. This includes developing strategies for product rollouts, managing capacity operations, and leading business planning for new machine families.

As a Product Manager, you'll work cross-functionally with engineering teams, UX/UI designers, sales finance, and other stakeholders to guide products from conception to launch. The position requires strong analytical skills to break down complex problems and drive product development, particularly in areas of compute and data center infrastructure, fleet automation, and logistics systems.

Responsibilities For Product Manager, Capacity and Logistics Systems

  • Drive new capabilities in demand curation, processing, fulfillment and DC automation systems for all machine families
  • Advise on product roll out strategies based on data, customer and competitive insights
  • Influence stockout and demand shaping strategies, and define new responses and tooling
  • Establish, track, and report capacity operations performance on VM family fulfillment
  • Drive business planning/demand forecasting systems development for new machine families

Requirements For Product Manager, Capacity and Logistics Systems

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role
  • 5 years of experience in compute and data center infrastructure, fleet automation, ERP, Business Planning, or Logistics Systems
  • 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch
  • Experience developing or launching infrastructure products or technologies
  • Master's degree in technology or business related field (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience working cross-functionally (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in business function (preferred)
  • 4 years of experience delivering technical presentations (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in software development (preferred)
  • Knowledge of workload requirements and infrastructure demands (preferred)
