Google Maps, a crucial product trusted worldwide for navigation and discovery, is seeking a Product Manager II to join their Geo UGC team. This role focuses on ensuring Google Maps remains accurate, complete, and up-to-date through User Generated Content (UGC) initiatives.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with Google's Geo team, which serves over a billion monthly users through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, and Google Maps Platform. You'll be based in Sydney, collaborating with global teams across Tokyo, Mountain View, and Seattle to develop mobility-focused products that enhance user experiences.

As a Product Manager II, you'll play a crucial role in unlocking real-time insights from Geo's ecosystems, helping users complete their journeys efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include managing the Question Answering Platform, analyzing product usage data, and designing systems for user feedback. The role requires strong technical background with at least 5 years of experience in product management or related technical roles.

The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer product management, particularly in developing and launching successful products. You should be comfortable working across functions, including Engineering, Product, UX, Analytics/Data Science, policy, and legal teams. Experience in automotive industry, navigation, or transportation systems is highly valued.

Responsibilities For Product Manager II, Geo UGC, Google Maps

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Sydney and across Geo (Tokyo, Mountain View, and Seattle) to develop mobility-focused products
  • Understand user needs and behaviors to create innovative solutions that enhance their experience
  • Own the product roadmap and strategy for mobility engagement experiences, ensuring alignment with Geo goals
  • Analyze mobility product usage data with data science, UX research, and engineering to inform product decisions
  • Manage and evolve the Question Answering Platform (QAP), enabling mobility contributions and integrating it into the UGC tasking system
  • Design and implement systems for users to provide unstructured feedback related to mobility

Requirements For Product Manager II, Geo UGC, Google Maps

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch
  • Experience building consumer facing products
  • 8 years of experience in consumer product management (preferred)
  • Experience working across functions (preferred)
  • Experience in designing products use in the automotive industry, navigation or transportation systems (preferred)
  • Experience in managing day-to-day product direction (preferred)
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority (preferred)
