Google's Technical Infrastructure team is seeking a Program Manager II for Materials Management to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring supply chain readiness for multiple programs, with a focus on cost optimization, multi-sourcing, and material readiness for new product prototypes and mass production.

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $117,000-$172,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll work behind the scenes to maintain the architecture that keeps Google's product portfolio running smoothly. The team takes pride in being the engineers' engineers, focusing on building and maintaining data centers and developing next-generation Google platforms.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in program or project management, with a strong background in Supply Chain Operations and Materials Management. You'll work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain Operations, Supply and Demand Planning, Global Commodity Management, and Supplier/Integration partners. Your responsibilities will include creating and implementing new processes for material management, driving supply chain readiness, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Responsibilities For Program Manager II, Materials Management, Technical Infrastructure

  • Create and implement new processes centered around material management, lead time reduction, PO placements, and risk buy
  • Drive material and supply chain readiness for all NPI builds from concept phase through End-of-Life
  • Serve as the primary materials liaison with Suppliers, manage spend against project budgets, and manage production risk buys and strategic buffers
  • Identify and communicate supply chain risks and mitigation plans to ensure materials readiness for production builds
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and conduct regular physical inventory counts

Requirements For Program Manager II, Materials Management, Technical Infrastructure

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience with Supply Chain Operations and Materials Management
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects (preferred)
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) (preferred)
  • Experience across all phases of a product from prototype to mass production to end of life (preferred)
  • Experience delivering products, with knowledge of project management (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
