Google is seeking a Program Manager II to join their Technical Infrastructure team, focusing on Operations and New Product Introduction. This role is crucial in leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects that span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. The position involves coordinating with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate with cross-functional partners.

The Technical Infrastructure team is responsible for developing and maintaining Google's data centers and building next-generation platforms that make Google's product portfolio possible. This team takes pride in being the engineers' engineers, focusing on keeping networks running optimally to ensure the best user experience.

As a Program Manager II, you'll be responsible for leading cross-functional teams both internally and with external partners, managing production ramp-ups and product transitions, and ensuring operations development activities meet program goals. The role requires expertise in NPI operations, supply chain operations, and hardware operations, with a strong focus on managing material availability, cost considerations, and capacity readiness.

The position offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $126,000-$181,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Program Manager II, Operations, New Product Introduction

  • Lead cross-functional Program teams within Google and with external partners to prepare for production ramp or product transitions
  • Plan and execute operations development activities and ensure transition to production within cost, quality, and capacity parameters, and ensure production transitions meet program goals
  • Manage ramp readiness with internal teams as well as external partners (e.g., material availability, cost/assembly/test/BOM/capacity readiness and transition plans)

Requirements For Program Manager II, Operations, New Product Introduction

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience in NPI operations and supply chain operations
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience in multiple aspects of hardware operations
  • Knowledge about hardware BOMs, process documentation, and assembly and test processes
  • Ability to communicate project requirements and schedules
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, creativity, and strategic skills
