Google's Technical Infrastructure team is seeking a Program Manager III for Materials Management to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring supply chain readiness across multiple programs, with a focus on cost optimization, multi-sourcing, and material readiness for new product prototypes and mass production.

The position requires a seasoned professional with 5 years of experience in program management and a strong background in Supply Chain Operations and Inventory Management. You'll be working at the intersection of Engineering, Supply Chain Operations, Supply and Demand Planning, Global Commodity Management, and Supplier/Integration partners.

As a Material Program Manager, you'll be responsible for creating and implementing new processes around material management, driving supply chain readiness, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Your role will be essential in identifying and mitigating supply chain risks while ensuring materials readiness for production builds.

Responsibilities For Program Manager III, Materials Management, Technical Infrastructure

  • Create and implement new processes centered around material management, lead time reduction, PO placements and risk buy
  • Drive material and supply chain readiness for all NPI builds from concept phase through End of Life
  • Serve as the primary materials liaison with Suppliers, manage spend against project budgets, and manage production risk buys and strategic buffers
  • Identify and communicate supply chain risks and mitigation plans to ensure materials readiness for production builds
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and conduct regular physical inventory counts

Requirements For Program Manager III, Materials Management, Technical Infrastructure

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience with Supply Chain Operations and Inventory Management
  • Experience across all phases of a product from prototype to mass production to end of life
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Experience delivering products, with knowledge of project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to customize communications based on the audience
