Google Cloud's Supply Chain and Operations team is seeking a Program Manager III to join their Supplier Strategy, Governance, and Category Management team. This role focuses on managing warehousing and data center third-party Labor/Logistics categories across Cloud Infrastructure. The position requires expertise in supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and program management.
The role is integral to Google's Technical Infrastructure team, which is responsible for maintaining and developing data centers and next-generation Google platforms. As a Program Manager, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects across offices, time zones, and hemispheres, coordinating with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage schedules, and identify risks.
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of program management experience, with a strong background in supplier sourcing and contract negotiations. They will be responsible for developing category strategies, participating in thought leadership, and driving continuous improvement in category management. Responsibilities For Program Manager III, Supplier Sourcing, Google Cloud
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive category strategy roadmap that includes a detailed analysis of current and future supplier capabilities, identifying opportunities for innovation
- Participate in thought leadership to Center of Excellence (CoE) communities, sharing best practices, developing performance models, and driving continuous improvement in category management
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across different departments to ensure alignment between strategies and overall business objectives with a focus on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Leverage knowledge in supplier contracting to lead strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate favorable contract terms and implement effective spend management strategies
- Develop and manage a supplier selection process that incorporates market analysis, industry practices, technology solutions, and pre-qualification tools to identify and onboard high-performing providers
Requirements For Program Manager III, Supplier Sourcing, Google Cloud
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in program or project management
- Experience with supplier sourcing and negotiating vendor contracts
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
- Experience working with third-party logistics partners and extended workforce providers
- Experience within the risk management space, including risk assessment, risk reporting, audit, compliance, or risk management standards
- Experience with global commodity management
