Description For Program Manager, Logistics Operations

Google is seeking a Program Manager for Logistics Operations to join their Technical Infrastructure team in Bangkok, Thailand. This role is crucial in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects related to warehouse and data center logistics operations. The position involves overseeing Third-Party Logistics (3PL) warehouse locations, monitoring performance metrics, and working with cross-functional teams to optimize delivery cycles and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain and logistics management, with a strong background in managing vendor relationships and outsourced providers. They will be responsible for supporting data gathering and analysis on regional logistical performance, facilitating stakeholder alignment, and contributing to logistics strategies that support data center expansion.

As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll be working behind the scenes to maintain and develop the architecture that powers Google's vast product portfolio. The role requires expertise in using SAP and various in-house tools, as well as the ability to work with software teams to define regional requirements for logistics-supporting tools.

Responsibilities For Program Manager, Logistics Operations

  • Assist in managing Third-Party Logistics (3PL) warehouse locations, monitor metrics for KPI and vendor scorecards for data center logistics support
  • Support data gathering and analysis on regional logistical performance, facilitate alignment with internal/external stakeholders on business operation processes
  • Convey global forecast on deployment and decommissioning for local sites and provide guidance on case-by-case execution changes
  • Provide first level system guidance (SAP and in-house tools), work with software teams on tooling requirements
  • Partner with transport, compliance, and other cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to reduce delivery cycle times
  • Support and implement project or program related plans to improve processes, operations, material flows or cost initiatives

Requirements For Program Manager, Logistics Operations

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience managing warehousing and supply chain operations
  • Master's degree (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in managing vendor and outsourced providers (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain/logistics (preferred)
  • Experience with SAP (preferred)
  • Excellent program management and communication skills (preferred)
