Description For Regulatory Governance Manager

Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking a Regulatory Governance Manager to join their mission of making the internet safer. This role is crucial in identifying and addressing safety and integrity challenges across Google's product ecosystem, including Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. The position requires a strategic thinker with 10 years of experience who will work globally to manage regulatory compliance and governance in Trust and Safety operations.

The role involves partnering with Global Affairs teams to monitor and action regulations affecting Trust and Safety, managing governance forums, and ensuring operational perspectives inform future regulations. You'll work closely with Legal and Policy teams to represent Trust and Safety equities in external conversations and drive cross-functional alignment with various stakeholders.

As a Regulatory Governance Manager, you'll be part of a diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers working to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google's products. The team operates in over 40 languages, protecting users, advertisers, and publishers globally. This position offers the opportunity to impact user safety at scale while working with cutting-edge technology and talented professionals.

The ideal candidate brings a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with a decade of expertise in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, or cybersecurity. Responsibilities For Regulatory Governance Manager

  • Partner with teams across Global Affairs to ensure full visibility and actioning of regulations impacting Trust and Safety. Deliver updates to Trust and Safety leadership on key emerging regulations
  • Partner cross-functionally to manage program specific regulations or obligations to ensure a good landing for Trust and Safety teams
  • Manage governance forums across Trust and Safety to share information and drive decision-making on upcoming regulations
  • Work with Legal and Policy teams to ensure that Trust and Safety equities are represented in external conversations so that operational realities help to inform future regulations
  • Collaborate and drive alignment with a range of partners across Global Affairs and Product Areas and more

Requirements For Regulatory Governance Manager

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or related fields
  • Experience with project or program management
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to be action-oriented and seek to meet the high standards of integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, problem-solving, and investigative skills
