Description For Research Product Manager, Google Cloud, Domain Applied ML

Google Cloud is seeking a Research Product Manager for their Domain Applied ML (DAML) team, a translational research group within CoreML. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI research and product development, focusing on bringing the latest Generative AI capabilities to Google products. The position requires a unique blend of technical expertise in AI/ML and product management skills, with opportunities to work alongside world-class researchers and engineers.

The role involves guiding research initiatives from conception to implementation, working cross-functionally with teams across Google, including CoreML, Google DeepMind, and various product areas. You'll be responsible for developing and executing multi-year research roadmaps, understanding complex GenAI development workflows, and identifying opportunities for 10x improvements through novel research innovations.

As a Research Product Manager, you'll serve as a key bridge between technical research and business implementation, requiring both deep technical understanding and strong business acumen.   • Maintain an understanding of the development workflows that GenAI product builders traverse
  • Articulate the current state of the art in your research area
  • Build productive and trusting partnerships with DAML research team, CoreML teammates, GDM colleagues, PA partners
  • Establish a multi-year research roadmap
  • Be the spokesperson for your research area within CoreML and across Google

Requirements For Research Product Manager, Google Cloud, Domain Applied ML

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role
  • 2 years of experience in developing or launching products or technologies within AI/ML
  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field (preferred)
  • 2 years experience developing new Generative AI technologies (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience in a business role (preferred)
  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 and from 1 to 10
  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and research directions
  • Experience product managing internal ML infrastructure
