Description For Security Engineer, Android Malware

Google's Android Malware Research team is seeking a Security Engineer to help protect the Android ecosystem from malware threats. As part of the Devices & Services team, you'll combine Google's AI, Software, and Hardware expertise to create secure experiences for users. You'll be responsible for analyzing malware families, developing detection strategies, and conducting reverse engineering to protect Android users. The role involves working with cutting-edge security technologies and collaborating with teams across Google Play and Android ecosystem.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer, Android Malware

  • Perform reverse engineering, analyze, and detect malware at scale
  • Advocate security and secure practices throughout the Google Play and Android ecosystem
  • Conduct research to identify potential attack vectors against Android
  • Work with other team members to improve Android Security and Privacy's knowledge of malware and propose methods to detect and mitigate them

Requirements For Security Engineer, Android Malware

Kotlin
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
  • Experience in Malware, Reverse Engineering, Python
  • Experience in Android reverse engineering (DEX, ARM), malware analysis preferred
  • Experience in Software Development, SQL, Code Analysis preferred
  • Android application development experience in C++, Java, or Kotlin preferred
  • Foundational knowledge of security engineering, computer and network security, authentication, security protocols, and applied cryptography
