Google is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Information Security Engineering team. This role is part of Google Cloud, which accelerates organizations' digital transformation capabilities. The Security Engineer will work on creating and maintaining the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers.
Key responsibilities include: • Identifying security issues and implementing security controls, tools, and services • Performing security reviews, researching vulnerabilities, and designing secure protocols • Responding to vulnerabilities with mitigations and system hardening • Focusing on security strategy for Google Cloud • Reviewing designs for vulnerabilities
The ideal candidate should have: • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience • 1 year of experience with security assessments, design reviews, or threat modeling • 1 year of coding experience in general-purpose languages • Experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols
Preferred qualifications include experience in penetration testing and security consulting.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer, Information Security Engineering
- Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes
- Perform security reviews, research and reproduce vulnerabilities, design secure protocols and systems, and write tests and fuzzers
- Respond to vulnerabilities with repos, mitigations, and hardening
- Focus on the security strategy for Google Cloud
- Review designs and look for vulnerabilities, with one-time reviews and longer term engagements
