Description For Security Engineer, Product Security, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Security Engineer to join their Product Security team, playing a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the security infrastructure of Google Cloud services. This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while protecting one of the world's largest cloud platforms.

The role involves collaborating with various teams across Google, including Security, Privacy, and Engineering teams, to set the direction for product security in Google Cloud. You'll be responsible for identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities, implementing robust security controls, and contributing to the overall security strategy of Google Cloud.

As a Security Engineer, you'll be part of Google's Security team, which is dedicated to creating and maintaining the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. You'll work with network equipment, monitor systems for attacks and intrusions, and collaborate with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in security engineering, with expertise in computer and network security protocols, security assessments, and threat modeling. You'll need proficiency in coding and a deep understanding of security principles. Experience in penetration testing and consulting would be particularly valuable.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer, Product Security, Google Cloud

  • Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes
  • Perform security reviews, research and reproduce vulnerabilities, design secure protocols and systems, and write tests
  • Look for vulnerabilities with techniques including reverse engineering, fuzzing, and static analysis
  • Focus on the security strategy for Google Cloud
  • Respond to vulnerabilities with repos, mitigations, and hardening, Surface vulnerability patterns and design them out

Requirements For Security Engineer, Product Security, Google Cloud

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
  • 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
  • 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
  • Experience in penetration testing (preferred)
  • Experience in consulting (preferred)
