Description For Security Engineering Intern, BS/MS, Summer 2025

As a Security Engineer Intern at Google, you will help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks, and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. You will work with a broad range of devices, actively monitoring systems for attacks and intrusions. The role focuses on the offensive/testing side, working with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities. You will also build tools, scripts, and other automation to help project teams achieve Google-scale impact.

This internship is intended for students in their penultimate academic year, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field. The program requires participants to be located in the United States for its duration and have English proficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Applying knowledge from computer science courses to real-world challenges
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solutions
