Security Engineering Intern, BS/MS, Summer 2025

Google is seeking a Security Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 to join their team. This internship is designed for students in their penultimate academic year pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field. As a Security Engineer Intern, you will help protect network boundaries, harden computer systems and network devices against attacks, and provide security services to safeguard sensitive data. You'll work with a broad range of devices, actively monitor systems for attacks and intrusions, and focus on the offensive/testing side to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

The role requires coding experience in Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript, and knowledge of network protocols, secure network design, web application/browser security, authentication control, applied cryptography/security protocols, or intrusion detection. You'll apply your computer science knowledge to real-world challenges, analyze information to solve problems effectively, develop automation scripts, and contribute to a productive and innovative team environment.

Google offers a competitive salary range of $89,000-$118,000 for this full-time internship position, with the exact amount determined by factors such as work location, job-related skills, and experience. The internship requires full-time availability for 12 weeks outside of university term time and is open to students currently attending degree programs in the US.
