Senior Android Performance Developer, Chrome Browser

Google is seeking a Senior Android Performance Developer for their Chrome Browser team. This role is crucial in scaling the Chrome for Android codebase while maintaining optimal performance. The main focus areas include RAM usage, scroll performance, startup time, and benchmarks. The ideal candidate will lead performance projects, provide technical leadership, and coordinate across global teams and product areas. Key responsibilities include leading team members on performance projects, coaching junior developers, and coordinating initiatives across Chrome, Android, and Play. The Chrome for Android team is dedicated to building the best possible browser for Android, sharing a codebase with Chrome desktop and Chrome OS. As the default browser for Android, it has a large and growing user base. The team's work impacts other Chrome offerings, but the primary focus is on Chrome for Android.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), 5 years of software development experience, expertise in performance evaluation and memory management, and experience with web platforms on Android. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in developing accessible technologies, and proficiency in profiling and optimizing large software systems across desktop and mobile devices.
