Google is seeking a Senior Automation and Robotics Manufacturing Test Engineer to join their diverse team that pushes boundaries in developing custom silicon solutions. This role is part of a rapid iteration group focused on defining and stewarding automation standards for Google. The position requires physical interaction with hardware equipment in a simulated data center environment, utilizing Google labs, power, and safety equipment.

The ideal candidate will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated manufacturing processes within the data center. Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, managing supplier quality issues, conducting measurement system analysis, and implementing quality assurance plans.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in designing and testing multiple subsystems, including software, robotics algorithms, and electrical systems. Experience with industrial electrical control systems and safety standards is essential. Preferred qualifications include 5 years of product development experience and expertise with PLCs, Servo Drives, and industrial vision systems.

This position offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $122,000-$178,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The role is based in Moncks Corner, SC, and requires on-site presence due to the specialized nature of working with hardware equipment.

Responsibilities For Senior Automation and Robotics Manufacturing Test Engineer

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including workflow analysis and equipment layout
  • Manage supplier quality issues and drive corrective actions
  • Lead measurement system analysis (MSA) and Gage Roles and Responsibilities studies
  • Develop and implement supplier quality assurance plans, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Conduct supplier design reviews and process verification activities

Requirements For Senior Automation and Robotics Manufacturing Test Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience designing and testing multiple subsystems and systems (e.g., software, robotics algorithms, electrical systems, mechanical systems, control systems)
  • 3 years of experience with industrial electrical control system components and system design, and regional industrial and safety standards (e.g. ISO, NFPA, RIA, ANSI, ETC)
