The position offers a competitive base salary range of $150,000-$223,000, plus additional benefits including bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits package. The role requires a Master's degree in a quantitative field and at least 5 years of relevant experience (or 3 years with a PhD).
As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining models that estimate energy consumption and carbon emissions for Google Cloud customers. You'll work cross-functionally with various teams to gather and analyze data related to cloud software usage, resource consumption, and environmental impact. The role involves building analytical tools to identify energy and carbon-savings opportunities for customers.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in analytics, coding (Python, R, SQL), and statistical analysis. Knowledge of optimization, simulation, and probabilistic decision-making models is highly valued, as is experience with energy consumption modeling and the computer hardware industry.
