Senior Director, Engineering, Data Analytics and Insights

Google's Data Analytics and Insights (DANI) organization is seeking a Senior Director to lead their Analytical Storage team, responsible for managing critical systems including Sawmill and Napa. This role involves overseeing exabyte-scale distributed systems that handle large volumes of event-level data and aggregated views. The position requires leading strategic direction for system modernization, particularly focusing on Sawmill's transformation from legacy systems to modern infrastructure.

The role sits at the intersection of Google's most critical AI initiatives, collaborating with teams from Google Deep Mind, Ads, and Search. You'll be responsible for leading an engineering organization that maintains and evolves these essential data systems, ensuring they meet the growing demands of ML practitioners involved in LLM training.

As Senior Director, you'll be tasked with scaling systems, either through supporting existing platforms or building new services to meet diverse stakeholder needs across Google's ecosystem. The compensation package is highly competitive, with a base salary range of $323,000-$465,000, plus additional benefits including bonus and equity.
