Google's Trust and Safety (T&S) team is seeking a Senior Engineering Analyst to join their Messages Spam and Abuse team. This role is crucial in protecting Google's users across various products like Ads, Maps, Chrome, Play, Gmail, and Search. The position focuses on preventing abuse within the messaging ecosystem (xMS, RCS, RBM, Google Messages), specifically targeting phishing, malware, scams, and unwanted interactions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data analysis, project management, and security/anti-abuse systems. You'll work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with Engineers and Product Managers globally to develop and implement abuse protections at Google scale. The role requires expertise in SQL, Python, or Golang, with knowledge of messaging systems and fraud prevention.

This position offers competitive compensation ($139,000-$207,000) plus bonus, equity, and benefits. You'll be part of a diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers working across 40+ languages. Responsibilities For Senior Engineering Analyst, Messages Spam and Abuse

  • Analyze emerging trends, conduct complex data analysis, and identify new signals to develop solutions for scaled enforcement
  • Develop an understanding of abuse in messaging, current cross-product workflows, and available intelligence
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design and build anti-abuse protections leveraging reputation at all levels
  • Build monitoring and alerting dashboards to track abuse levels, perform quality checks
  • Lead projects to prevent Google's infrastructure from being abuse, harm or fraud
