This role is crucial in qualifying new components, servers, storage devices, and specialized machine learning hardware for Google's data centers. The position involves ensuring that equipment meets Google's stringent requirements for performance, security, reliability, and features.

The role requires a strong background in hardware systems design and testing, with hands-on experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, and analyzers. You'll be working within lab environments, planning and executing testing at scale while collaborating with design engineers to improve hardware quality.

As a Hardware Validation Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating test plans, coordinating resources, and performing various types of testing including electrical, functional, performance, and reliability testing for server products. You'll work with high-speed interfaces like PCIe Gen 5/6 and DDR5, conducting electrical and protocol compliance testing.

The position offers competitive compensation with a base salary range of $147,000-$216,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. This is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the largest and most powerful computing infrastructures in the world, ensuring that Google's custom-designed machines meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in hardware systems design and testing, or 3 years with an advanced degree. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required. The role involves significant collaboration with ODM/JDM partners and internal teams, requiring strong communication skills and attention to detail.
