Senior Research Scientist

Google Research is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join their team in building the next generation of intelligent systems for all Google products. As a Research Scientist, you'll setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Authoring research papers to share and generate impact of research results
• Helping grow the research business by sharing trends and best practices
• Driving project work by defining data structures, frameworks, designs, and evaluation metrics
• Identifying new research areas and developing long-term research strategies
• Addressing defined problems/gaps in existing technology

The ideal candidate will have:

• PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2 years of experience leading a research agenda
• Scientific publication submissions to conferences, journals, or public repositories
• Coding experience (preferred)
• Experience leading research efforts and influencing other researchers (preferred)

You'll work on real-world problems spanning various areas of computer science, including machine learning, data mining, natural language processing, and more. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing findings, collaborating with partner universities and technical institutes worldwide.

Google Research teams collaborate closely with other teams across Google, maintaining flexibility to adapt to fast-paced business needs. The company offers a competitive salary range of $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits, determined by factors such as location, skills, and experience.
