Senior Research Scientist, Machine Learning Theory

As a Senior Research Scientist in Machine Learning Theory at Google Research, you will be part of the Learning Theory team dedicated to advancing the theoretical foundations of machine learning. Your role will involve conducting theoretical research in areas such as optimization, statistical learning theory, deep learning, online learning, and reinforcement learning. You'll design and analyze novel algorithms with provable guarantees, validate their effectiveness through experiments, and collaborate with engineers to translate theoretical insights into practical solutions for Google's products, including Gemini.

The position requires a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience leading a research agenda. You should have expertise in learning theory, statistical learning theory, optimization, decision making under uncertainty, and algorithms in general. The role involves publishing findings in conferences and journals, contributing to Google's research agenda, and actively participating in the wider research community.
