Senior Security Engineer, Google Distributed Cloud Compliance

Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped aims to serve customers who want to use hyperscale Cloud to drive operational efficiency and business innovation/agility while also retaining some workloads on-premises (or on a local third-party managed infrastructure) in controlled environments due to regulations/policies and geopolitical reasons. As a Senior Security Engineer for Google Distributed Cloud Compliance, you will be responsible for reviewing requirements changes across relevant regulatory frameworks and technical standards, conducting implementation reviews, identifying opportunities for compliance process improvements, participating in compliance meetings and certification audits, and contributing subject matter expertise to support decision making. You will work with the Security team to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers, actively monitor systems for attacks and intrusions, and work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities. This role requires a strong background in security assessments, security design reviews, threat modeling, and compliance, as well as coding experience in general-purpose languages. The position offers a competitive salary range of $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits, with the specific salary determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
