Google is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their Cloud CISO team, focusing on Operational Technology security. This role combines traditional security engineering with specialized knowledge in industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT). The position offers a competitive base salary range of $161,000-$239,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
The role involves working with Google Data Centers Product Design teams and Operation teams to ensure secure design, deployment, and maintenance of OT products and architectures. You'll be responsible for conducting security assessments, implementing security controls, and hardening ICS/OT environments against potential threats. The position requires a strong background in security engineering, with specific expertise in ICS/OT security.
Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive security assessments, designing security architectures, and implementing controls to enhance the overall security posture of ICS/OT systems. You'll also monitor security controls, research new technologies, and recommend solutions to strengthen the ICS/OT security program.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of security engineering experience, including security assessments and protocol knowledge, along with 3 years of ICS/OT security experience. Leadership experience and familiarity with industry standards like NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISA/IEC 62443 are valuable assets.

- Conduct comprehensive security assessments of existing ICS/OT environments to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and non-compliance with Google standards
- Harden ICS/OT devices, networks, and applications to mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities
- Design and implement security architectures, controls, and processes to enhance the overall security posture of ICS/OT systems
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and processes
- Research and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the ICS/OT security program
Requirements For Senior Security Engineer, Operational Technology, Cloud CISO
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
- 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
- 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
- 3 years of experience in industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) security
- 1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment
- OT Security Certifications (preferred)
- Experience with security assessments and pen testing for ICS/OT environments (preferred)
- Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards (preferred)
- Understanding of ICS/OT protocols, architectures, and devices (preferred)
