Senior Security Engineer, Public Sector Professional Services

Google Public Sector is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their team focused on creating and maintaining secure environments for Google's users and developers. This role combines security expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, where you'll serve as a trusted advisor to various Google Cloud Platform customers. You'll work on developing secure cloud architectures, threat detection, and incident response while collaborating with both internal teams and external partners.

The position requires deep technical expertise in security, cloud architecture, and programming, along with the ability to consult and guide enterprise customers through their cloud journey. You'll be responsible for ensuring Google Cloud environments are secure, compliant, and resilient, particularly for public sector institutions.

As part of Google's hybrid workplace model, this role offers flexibility with both remote and in-office options. The position comes with a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $166,000-$244,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

Key responsibilities include developing and hardening cloud architectures, optimizing infrastructure operations, threat mitigation, and incident response. You'll need strong technical credentials including experience with web technologies, programming languages, and cloud security, plus an active US Government Top Secret security clearance.
