Senior Security Engineer, Secure Use

Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their Security team in creating and maintaining the safest operating environment for users and developers. This role combines hands-on security engineering with strategic leadership, requiring 5 years of extensive experience in cloud security, security assessments, and coding. The position offers a competitive base salary range of $161,000-$239,000 plus comprehensive benefits.

As a Security Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of protecting Google's network boundaries and systems, working directly with network equipment and actively monitoring for attacks and intrusions. Your responsibilities will include building detection tools, creating solutions for secure product deployment, and providing crucial oversight to cloud product teams. You'll also work closely with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in security engineering, computer and network security protocols, and cloud security. Leadership experience in technical capacity or risk analysis is essential, as you'll be guiding teams and interfacing with customers to address security concerns. Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, and experience with infrastructure as code will be valuable assets.
