Google's Uppercase team is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their threat detection and security research solutions team. This role is integral to providing actionable Threat Intelligence to various Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Security products. The position involves managing over 10 Billion actionable IOCs and collaborating with multiple internal security teams including Google Security Operations, Network Threat Intelligence, Apigee, VirusTotal, Security Command Center, and Mandiant.
The role requires expertise in security assessments, threat modeling, and computer network security, with a strong foundation in coding. You'll be working at the intersection of security and data science, utilizing advanced techniques to analyze and process security datasets at scale. Responsibilities For Senior Security Engineer, Threat Research, Uppercase Research
- Track and detect threats at the Indicator of Compromise (IOC) level
- Apply Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) to security datasets
- Utilize data analysis techniques using Jupyter Notebooks, Google Codelabs, Scipy and Numpy
Requirements For Senior Security Engineer, Threat Research, Uppercase Research
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
- 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
- 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
- 1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment
- Experience with security research, malware analysis, or adjacent work (preferred)
- Experience with security analysis tooling including PCAP, System logs, EDR, SIEM (preferred)
- Ability to generate well-documented technical malware research on request (preferred)
