Description For Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, Customer Support Engineering

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their gTech Users and Products (gUP) team. This role combines full-stack development with a focus on customer support engineering. The position offers an opportunity to work on critical projects that improve Google's product ecosystem and user experience. You'll be responsible for developing both internal and external facing platforms, working closely with stakeholders to address product gaps and business needs. The role requires expertise in full-stack development, including back-end technologies (Java, Python, GO, C++) and front-end technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS).

The position is part of gUP's mission to advocate for Google's users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. You'll be involved in meeting partners and consumers' needs, representing their requirements to product partners, and proposing solutions that enhance engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. The role also contributes to ensuring products are optimized for users worldwide through localization, digitization, and partner integration.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, Customer Support Engineering

  • Write and test product or system development code, and review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Participate in, or lead design and code reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Influence technical direction and priorities for the project and adjacent engineers
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
  • Scope, design, implement, and maintain features, improving existing features with a focus on maintainability and reusability

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms

  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture
