Senior Software Engineering Manager

Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead and manage engineering teams working on critical network infrastructure projects. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring 8 years of software development experience and 5 years of leadership experience. You'll be responsible for managing engineers who serve as a 'virtual device vendor' for Google Global Networks, overseeing network technology, software development lifecycle, and large-scale testing and validation.

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Google, you'll go beyond traditional software development to tackle challenges in areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, and security. You'll be managing multiple teams and locations, handling large product budgets, and overseeing the deployment of international large-scale projects.

The role requires strong technical expertise in software development using languages like Python, C, C++, Java, and JavaScript, combined with proven leadership abilities. You'll be responsible for hiring, coaching, and supporting leaders within your team, fostering a sense of ownership, and defining clear missions that align with Google Cloud's objectives.
